The San Diego Rebellion (1-0) travel to the Pacific Northwest this weekend for a pivotal Western Conference showdown against the Seattle Majestics (1-1) in what could serve as an early playoff preview.

The Rebellion dominate the all-time series 5-1 and enter rested after a Week 1 rout of Utah (40-6) and a Week 2 bye. Seattle opened 2025 with a dominant 51-6 Week 1 rout of the Las Vegas Silver Stars but stumbled in Week 2 with a 42-0 shutout loss to the Texas Elite Spartans. They now seek redemption and their first win over San Diego since 2019, having dropped five straight in this rivalry.

The Rebellion’s offensive identity crystallized in their opener, spearheaded by running back Regina Escoto, who gashed Utah for 201 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries (8.0 avg). San Diego’s offensive line dominated the trenches, paving the way for 302 team rushing yards—a league-high through Week 2.

Daniella Trainor has emerged as a dynamic dual-threat quarterback for the Rebellion, showcasing versatility in their Week 1 rout of Utah. She completed 10-of-16 passes for 78 yards and two touchdowns while adding 59 rushing yards (7.4 avg) and another score on the ground. Trainor’s ability to command the offense through the air and contribute explosively as a rusher underscores her pivotal role in the Rebellion’s dominant start to the season.

Defensively, San Diego stifled Utah to 6 points and 120 total yards, anchored by linebacker Katie Claxton (9 tackles, 1 blocked kick) and defensive standout Knengi Martin (5 tackles, 2 for loss). Their unit ranks fourth in points allowed (6.0 per game), setting a daunting challenge for Seattle’s offense.

The Majestics, meanwhile, face uncertainty at quarterback. Starter Paytience Kamuta is questionable, potentially thrusting backup Alexis Catton into action. Seattle’s ground game is led by former Rebellion standout and Escondido native Adriana Gutierrez (99 rushing yards, 2 TDs).

Defensively, safety Mikalle Fortson (83-yard interception return TD) and linebacker Molly Tester (12 tackles, 3 for loss) aim to help disrupt San Diego’s potent rushing attack.

Key Matchup: San Diego’s rushing offense (1st, 302 yds/game) vs. Seattle’s run defense (7th, 125 yds/game allowed).
