The Crusaders' perfect season ends with its first state championship victory since 2015. Dominic Nankil completed 13 of 22 passes for 297 yards, while Nico Mosley found the end zone three times. Sophomore Isaiah Buxton's 88-yard interception return for a touchdown gave Mater Dei an early lead in the first quarter. Tre Edwards led the Mater Dei defense with 9.5 tackles (2 for loss).
Lucky Sutton rushed for 232 yards and scored a 73-yard touchdown to help Cathedral earn their third state title in team history, all under the direction of head coach Sean Doyle. Charlie Mirer sealed the game after scoring on a quarterback sneak on fourth and inches. He also threw two touchdown passes to Rex Haynes. Victory Johnson hauled in an interception and ran it back 36 yards for a pick-six.
