After six outstanding seasons in the Women's Football Alliance, the San Diego Surge will play its seventh and final campaign in the Independent Women's Football League. The six-game slate includes three matchups hosted at Santana High School and another three on the road.
The Surge will begin the season in the City of Angels for the second straight year, only this time they'll face the Los Angeles Bobcats in the first ever meeting between the teams. The Bobcats will enter their third year of play with an overall record of 11-7.
The following week, San Diego will host its home opener against the Nevada Storm, the only team on the schedule they've faced in the past. In 2014, the Surge came away with a 56-6 victory in Reno.
A week later, the Surge will be back on the road as they travel to Arizona to take on the Phoenix Phantomz.
Following a bye week and a rematch with Los Angeles at home, the highly-anticipated battle with the two-time defending IWFL champion Utah Falconz will take place in Salt Lake City. Entering its fifth season of play, the Falconz hold a 41-1 all-time record.
After another week off, the Surge will end the 2018 regular season at home in a rematch with Phoenix.
