TORERO STADIUM (10/24/2015) The University of San Diego Toreros (5-2) took a break from Pioneer Football League play to host the Warner Royals (2-6), a third-year NAIA program from Lake Wales, Florida.
Grossmont High alum Anthony Lawrence put together another outstanding performance for USD, completing 21 of 26 passes for 278 yards and four touchdowns (in the first half) to help the Toreros roll to a 45-14 victory.
The Toreros found the end zone on it's first five offensive drives and outgained Warner 525-285 in total offense.
After punting on its first two possessions, Warner scored on back to back drives cutting USD’s lead to 21-14 with 12:11 left in the first half. DJ Davis connected with Jeffrey Suarez through the air on both touchdowns (76 & 21 yards).
The Toreros answered back with 24 unanswered points to close out the game.
Jereke Armstrong had his second straight multiple touchdown game, scoring off a 16-yard catch and nine-yard run. The San Pasqual product finished with 11 touches for 87 all-purpose yards.

Next Saturday, October 31st, the Toreros travel to Florida to resume PFL play against the Stetson Hatters. Kickoff is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. pacific time.
