Helix junior WR Evan Perkins (#6) is wide open for the touchdown catch.
EL CAJON, CA (10/30/2015) The top ranked Helix Highlanders (7-1) made short work of the Grossmont Foothillers (7-2) in front of a packed house at Jack Mashin Stadium. The 68-16 rout gave Helix its 19th straight win in the all-time series.
Nathan Stinson gave the Grossmont defense fits almost every time he touched the ball. The senior, who along with other starters only played during the first half, rushed for 143 yards and two long scores, including a 55-yarder during the second play from scrimmage.
"It was a receiver's block right there," credited Stinson. "He opened [the hole] up for me."
After forcing a three-and-out, the Highlanders needed just one play to find the end zone again. Michael Austin hit Mekhi Stephenson for a 66-yard strike and a quick 14-0 lead.
Austin made the most of his half with four touchdown passes and a quarterback keeper for a score.
