Division: I
League: Palomar
Championships: 12 (League), 5 (Section)
Head Coach: Damon Baldwin (11th Season)
2014 Recap: 8-3 (3-1 Palomar, 2nd)
Despite failing to repeat as Palomar League champions, the Bulldogs did enough to clinch a spot in the "Elite Eight", also known as the Open Division playoffs. Unfortunately they drew a road game at Helix, where their season ended in a 58-35 defeat.
2015 Outlook
Three-year starter Marco Cobian returns for his senior season after passing for 1,737 yards and 22 touchdowns last year. Cobian will be the only starter returning on offense. With only five returning starters (4 on defense) on the roster, youth could be a major issue for the Bulldogs.
“We are young, but our team is more athletic overall than in the past,” Ramona head coach Damon Baldwin said. “We had a great offseason and a lot of kids really developed, so like each year we wont know until our young team gets some reps at varsity competition.”
The Bulldogs will begin the season with the toughest opponent on their schedule. A visit from defending Division I champion St. Augustine should show us how this young team measures up.
