Last Saturday's announcement of this year’s section playoff pairings were followed by many complaints from football fans around the county. For obvious reasons, the focus of those complaints were the teams featured in this match-up. I’m sure the majority would agree that a team with only 1 win should not have a shot at a championship but I personally don’t have a problem with it. If a 1 win team just so happens to finish in the top 12 of a weak division then why not give them an opportunity to redeem their season? Let’s say the winner of this game ends up defying the odds and winning the D-III title, would their 1 win regular season make them any less of a championship team? The winner here will have a date with #1 seed Cathedral in next week’s Quarterfinals so I doubt we'll be finding out any time soon. But despite the team records and all the controversy this should be an epic battle between two teams itching to take advantage of a rare opportunity.
